About Alpha Chi

Since 1922 Alpha Chi National College Honor Society has distinguished itself as one of the top national honor societies in the nation. Now with 500,000 alumni, some 300 chapters across 45 states, and 8,000 new members annually, we recognize exceptional student scholars and unite them around one goal—channeling creativity and curiosity into scholarship that serves the greater good.

Every honor society celebrates academic achievement, but Alpha Chi is also about encouraging scholars to make their scholarship effective for good and to influence the world for the better. Another important mission is to enhance the collegiate experience for our student members through developing their talents by presenting at our conferences, competing for scholarships and grants, and learning leadership skills through chapter activities and events. Students wanting to learn more about Alpha Chi should visit our Invited Students page and review The Alpha Chi Difference.

The name Alpha Chi comes from the first letters of the Greek words Aletheia (Truth) and XAPAKTHP (Character), and these are our core values:
